For Providers

Vetruly connects licensed veterinary professionals with pet parents who need specialty care between clinic visits: post-op recovery, drop-in nursing, integrative care, and specialty boarding. You bring the skills. We bring the platform, the bookings, and a payment model that doesn't take a cut of your work.

Create your profile

Most marketplaces take a cut. We don't.

Vetruly was built by a veterinary professional who wanted to advocate for the people doing the work. The traditional marketplace model takes a percentage out of every booking, sometimes a steep one, and the provider ends up paid less than what the customer thinks they're paying. That model is everywhere. We built ours the other way around.

How you get paid

You set your own rates per service type. The platform fee is paid by the pet parent on top of your rate, not taken out of it.

Example

You set your drop-in visit rate at $80. A pet parent books a drop-in. The parent's invoice shows $80 for you plus a $12 platform fee, $92 total. You receive $80, less standard Stripe processing.

Payouts run through Stripe Connect. You're an independent contractor, responsible for your own 1099 taxes.

What the platform fee covers: payment processing, booking infrastructure, license verification, customer support, and the tools that let you run this as independent work.

Insurance: what to know

Vetruly doesn't require providers to carry insurance, but most independent veterinary professionals carry it for their own protection. Two flavors are worth understanding, plus a third resource for your clients.

Professional liability

Covers claims of negligence, adverse medication reactions, incorrect treatment, and legal defense costs if you're sued. AVMA PLIT is the field-standard program for veterinary professionals and a reasonable starting point. Several other carriers offer policies sized for 1099 and part-time work. Comparing two or three quotes against your specific services, state, and credential is a worthwhile hour.

If you already carry coverage through a clinic employer, check whether it extends to independent work outside the clinic. Usually it doesn't.

General liability

Covers things unrelated to the medicine itself: a pet parent slips on your equipment bag, you knock something over in their home. Less essential than professional liability, and often available as an add-on to a professional liability policy.

Pet insurance reimbursement

Specialty in-home and boarding care from a licensed veterinary professional is often eligible for reimbursement under major pet insurance plans (Trupanion, Healthy Paws, Embrace, Nationwide, and others). The pet parent submits the Vetruly invoice to their carrier directly. Letting parents know up front that they can submit for reimbursement often makes higher-acuity engagements more affordable for them, which makes them more accessible for you.

Vetruly will send you a more detailed insurance guide during onboarding with specific carrier names and price ranges to compare.
